CELEBRITYVideo: Tiwa Savage Explains Why She is a Terrible Live Performer By Ada Okoye | November 17, 2017SHARE TWEET SHARE SHARE 0 COMMENTS
Tiwa Savage sings so well in music videos and audio records, so much that whenever she is invited for live performances people expect to hear the same amazing voice which rules the airwaves, but they are always disappointed.
Every. Damn. Time.
And Ms. Savage knows this, which is why she has taken to her social media to explain why she is so different from the Tiwa Savage on radio and music videos.
Last night, she was invited to perform at the Dubai edition of the One Africa Music Festival, and this is what happened:
Yes, she was miming off sync as usual, and this thoroughly displeased folks who had fallen in love with her videos.
However, the Mavin queen explains that she is often under pressure from the industry, that this has affected her ‘sweet voice’. Now, she promises to make a change, to get her voice back and make her fans proud.
“I started this journey as a girl with a dream and sweet voice that captivated people, somewhere along the way that sweet voice was drowned by pressure of the industry and the need to stand in the midst of so many difficulties that happen behind the scenes,” she wrote on Instagram.
She went on acknowledge that she has “a job to do”, that she will henceforth listen to her “inner gut feeling” and become a better artiste/performer.
“I promise my savage soldiers that I will change and you will be proud to be a soldier. If you’ve got my back I won’t let you down EVER again,” she concluded.
